Need some help

Hi everyone. I might be less knowledgable about these issues than some here but I have lurked a lot and find this to be the best forum for these issues.

I was thinking of getting an anti-malware program but in reading some of the threads, I'm not sure that I don't already have one. lol

Anyway, I don't want to take up too much of your time, but if anyone could give me pointers, I would appreciate it.

I have a 1GB computer and run Kaspersky Internet Security suite 6.0. I also have the Comodo BoClean running. On demand, I have AVG's free anti-spyware software and Adaware.

My question is, what is missing here? Should I consider buying something like Previx2 or a squared anti-malware or do you think I am pretty well covered now.

I primarily use the Firefox browser, although I do use IE 7.0 occasionally. Also, I'm a little high risk browser. I have a cable internet connection and also go through a Linksys router.

If you need anymore info about my system, let me know.

Again, sorry that I'm so inexperienced with some of this stuff but would greatly appreciate any help offered.

Can't see too much protection there against a zero day attack.You may wan't to install the FF add on Noscript and run both your browsers through Sandboxie and or use Defensewall.

If and when you become accustomed to using sandboxing/virtual/snapshot type systems you may want to look at FDISR, Returnil, Powershadow, Virtual machines or even images.

I'd have to agree with Blue.
(Some here go a bit overboard on security apps.)
I prefer the "KISS" philosophy.

One thing else you may consider is Sandboxing your browser.
Thus, you can more comfortably surf the 'dark side' with virtual impunity.

Is there any good link you can send me to that will explain the sandboxing? I hate to admit, I have no clue what that means.

I'm going now to add the no script on my firefox browser.

I also agree with Blue. I do not think you need anything else. More is not better as long as you have good security as I think you do now.

If your box is running well. Keep it lean and mean. Adding too much security software can bog you down. I -would ad No-Script though.

I don't know about you but guard.exe in AVG slowed my box to a crawl. If you have issues it can be disabled in msconfig.

the PDM module is kis7.0 is much improved over the one in KI6.0
read the kaspersky beta forums to find out if it passes it with the 7.0 pdm
