WAN miniport (IP) by looknstop

IN the network interfaces, there is a additional WAN miniport (IP) adaptor by looknstop. What's the usage of this new device?

This is for PPP connections.
This kind of interface is present by default under Windows, so Look 'n' Stop binds to it.
