F11 disappeared after Vista clean install and...

Vista went to sleep, never to awake: MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM.

After a very quick and automatic repair, my F11 Recovery Manager Switch does not appear, but when I press it it brings me to BIOS.

Compaq Presario is my 'puter.

Any clues?

Just to add:

I can see the hidden Acronis partition in Vista's Disk Management Console.

Only way to get to Restore is to boot recovery disk. Anyone have a clue how to reset the F11 hot switch?
