Has anybody here ever deleted defender Pro antivirus and firewall?I installed this on my sister's comp a few weeks ago and she don't like it.I'm thinking of replacing it with AVS and ZA Free 6.1.I'Perhaps I'm kinda being cautious because those 2 anti viruses are Kaspersky based.:( A registry cleaner maybe?

Defender Pro is a rebadged Kaspersky AV/Firewall & Ashampoo utilities isn't it?

If Defender Pro doesn't have an uninstaller, use Add/Remove Program thru Control Panel(in XP),reboot, use a trustworthy reg cleaner.

This is from Tech Support.
Everything except the Anti-Virus and Firewall can be removed from Control Panel.
The instructions for removing the Anti-Virus and Firewall are below. After
removing them, delete the Defender and Defender Pro folders from C:/Program
Files.

To uninstall the Defender Pro Firewall:

1. You must stop the service first to uninstall the program. Right-click on the
Firewall Icon on the taskbar, and choose Exit.
2. Go to Start, Programs, Defender Pro, and choose Firewall.
3. Choose Uninstall Firewall.

If you still get a message that the firewall is enabled, make sure you are
logged in as the Admin user on a 2000 or XP system.

Follow the steps below to uninstall Defender Anti-Virus:

1. Right-click on the Anti-virus icon on the Windows taskbar, and Exit or End
the application. (you must end the process before the program can be
uninstalled)
2. Go to Start, Programs, and locate Defender Pro, Defender Pro 2005, Defender
Pro Anti-Virus.
3. Choose Uninstall.
4. Please restart the computer when prompted.
5. Next, open My Computer and double-click on the C: drive.
6. Click on Tools, then Folder Options.
7. Click on the View tab, then click on Show hidden files and folder to place a
check by it.
8. Click on Apply, then OK..
9. Double-click the Program Files folder, then the Defender Pro folder.
10. Click once on the Defender Pro Anti-Virus folder to highlight it.
11. Press the Delete key on the keyboard to delete the folder.
12. Go back to the C: drive
13 Double-click the Documents and Settings folder, then the All Users folder,
and finally the Application Data folder
14. Click once on the Defender Pro Anti-Virus folder to highlight it.
15. Press the Delete key on the keyboard to delete the folder.
16. Once this is done, close all open windows.
17. Empty the Recycle Bin by double clicking on the Recycle Bin and click on
File and then Empty Recycle Bin.
18. Once this is done, close all open windows.

Would this seem effective enough if i wanted to install AVS after?I'm assuming that this would get rid of all it's traces.::)
