I have noticed that on a few systems with just XP SP1 - KAV has slowed them down - is this a known issue or is it just my imagination?

The other day I installed KAV 6.0.2.621 on an service pack-less XP install and it worked fine.

I think it nonsensical to care enough about security. To get arguably the best AV in KAV.

And then throw away that reasoning by not having SP2 & all the latest critical updates.

KAV v6 is compatible with XP SP1, but one would do well to consider upgrading to XP XP2 anyway.

Why run SP-1, its discontinued. Not even critical updates will be issued for it. If you have some program that will not run on SP-2 or W2K, I can understand, but an SP-1 machine is not secure enough to be connected to the internet, and no AV will change that.
