i know, 877 today.
i mean, wow!!!!
used to be 30-100
for the past 2 months its been 200-350
and today, 877.
wow, i mean .... wow. ;D
-------
signature count means nothing, doesnt norton have less than 100,000 ?
but drweb are adding x5 AT LEAST more than they used to, some days *like today* alot more than they used to, this can only improve detection :)

Certainly......:)
Chris, it was a joke between me and Charles, trust me i do know that signature records mean nothing, in fact i find it a lot more cool to be able to do that same with 100-300000 that some need 700000 to do.

i wasnt having a go, just posting it for readers-sake ;D
this is very good from drweb, very good indeed.
april brought a 30% increase to march in signatures, but todays deserves a 'wow' as its double what ive seen before on a daily added amount. :thumb:

500 added in an hour is easy, every company can do, but it does not mean the quality, I guess they just make adjustment to their new engine.

nope, signature counts dont mean anything.
but as drweb keep thier virus database to a minimum, this is MASSIVE.
dont compare it to other companys who add LOADS to their database, compare it to 'drweb only' for a reflection of its count.
"9973 entries have been added to Dr.Web virus database in April, 2007. "
you see the amount now? ;D

You guys hit a sore spot with me on this one:
Has anyone else noticed that Dr. Web updates stop regularly around 00:00 hours every day (or at least it seems like EVERY day), and then doesn't have any posted updates for HOURS afterword???????
This does NOT occurr with Kaspersky AV postings. I don't think the hackers take a long break after midnight.......

I would guess they probably have limited staffing during the overnight hours that watches for anything significant. Rather like where I work, we have on call tech-support after hours and on weekends if anything major breaks. Computers never break do they? Good grief there's a DrWEB user just down the road from me...:o ;D :o

same reason that some AV's dont have updates at weekends.
limited staff is probably a big factor, but im sure if there were some big threats circling, they would be done asap.
