File Extensions: Exclusions?

Quick question...could not find in the Help files or FAQ at the vendor's website...

Can I configure the system scan to not exclude individual file extensions?

The reason I ask is that when I did a system scan, it came up with a bunch of false positives - "Suspicious". They were double extension files, like tar.gz files.

I did configure the scan to ignore one of my folders with many of these types of files, however, I have other folders in my hard drive where there are tar.gz files.

BTW: Forum web administrator, I don't know exactly what happened, but when I tried to post the above post a couple minutes ago, my IE crashed on me, and this is the first time this has happened since I got my computer in April 2003, so don't know if there is a bug in your website or with my IE configurations.

Since the majority from our posters do use IE without any problem, it's not the board software causing the crash. It's fairly impossible to find out the reason from over here - could be a IE glitch ;)

The best remedy might be untick "Show suspicious filenames" in Scan Control, which shows these.

Not a problem to disable as long as you are careful and know what your files are actually named - be aware of the excess space vulnerability as well, the help file mentions these.

Although it would be nice to have specific extension filters, since who knows may be some of the suspicious files are actually malicious. :)

yeah, but then: what would you like to filter ??? ;D
Anyway when you do a system scan those files will be scanned anyway ;)
