Greetings,

I am trying to clone (and or complete image) an IBM Thinkpad notebook hard drive. The problem is that IBM uses a hidden partition that effects the boot sector somehow. When I clone the drive it won't boot. How can I do an exact clone or complete image without modifying the boot sector?

I am using TI 9

Thanks,
Dan

Try making the clone using the bootable True Image CD.

Hello SURE1,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please notice that most likely the case is the hidden partition got resized during the cloning operation to a different sized hard drive. Please perform the cloning operation using manual (not automatic) clone mode and manual (not proportional/as is) partition transfer method, when prompted. Make sure you don't resize/move the service partition. Please see chapter "Transferring the system to a new disk" of the respective User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/) for details.

Thank you.
