Sorry about that, fixed it.

It already downloaded an update during the install. :)
I'm getting a 404 Not Found error for the menu link to their Online Support, even after rebooting. A readme file included in the install would have been nice too.
Aside from that, the config menu looks intuitive and clean. After adding KIS AVP to the exclusion list along with a few other apps, no conflicts so far.

Nice to hear that they released it. Now a question I wanted to ask is whether I'll be needing this, because my AVG Internet Security already has the ewido engine, which has proven itself to be quite good....???

Ask yourself these questions:

Am I a safe surfer?
Do I feel safe with AVG Internet Security?

Hi, folks: A big surprise indeed, a remarkable app is released in late Saturday night(approx 2230PM EST). Running very smoothly except a bit rocky startup: first two reboots freeze , after that no problems. If Comodo can provide end users w/ top-notched freewares w/o any hesitation, I say to other profit-driven giants "shame you". There are lots lots can be learned from Comodo. Two thumbs up. :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks for the heads up Coolio. I downloaded, installed, updated, rebooted, etc. with no problems.

Now I'm looking forward to threads such as:

Is Comodo BOClean + the free version of AntiVir classic, Avast, AVG, etc. as good or effective as the paid version of F-Secure, Kaspersky, NOD32, etc.?

Of course, even though I say this somewhat in jest, I'm curious about the answer also.

Installation went fine on Vista 32-bit Ultimate. No conflicts with any software, including these software that in theory could have a conflict:
Look´n´stop
Avast Home
Prevx1

Hi sukarof, can you tell me if your experiencing this on Vista .........
when I went to do a manual update by clicking the 'Check for Update' button on the Boclean GUI I get this error
189276

I've allowed it through the firewall but still the same thing, but If I do a manual update by double clicking the BOC4UPD.exe it all works perfectly, also auto updates seem to be fine. Just interested to see if your experiencing the same thing.

I can't get the menu to come up from right clicking the icon, there's a tooltip saying "right click for menu", but when I do, nothing happens. Other than that, all went seamlessly.

edit- disabled teatimer, and all working fine

Since the cat's out of the bag, I'm running it here with Avast Home, A-squared trial and CPF with no problems. :) Anyone with previous versions may want to read Kevin's post on page 12. Also he just posted again. You might want to read a little bit in that thread before installing.

Yep I agree with innerpeace.

Please go to the links below and read Kevin's posts on page 12 and 13 PRIOR to installing the program:

http://forums.comodo.com/index.php/topic,7641.msg59114.html#msg59114

If you are a newbie it might even be best to wait for a few days until the proper Release Notes, etc. are available.

This link (http://www.nsclean.com/supboc.html#section6) is from the original Boclean site. I dont know if that run through differs from the comodo version, but it might give you an idea how to configure things and why.

No, you don't, ewido is better at removal IME, but you can use it for extra detection of course.

I would suggest, that if you are on XP, unless you want new graphics, then wait a bit longer and stick with v4.22
There has been an unreasonble rush to get this out and the actual tool release is available before the full release notes etc are posted.

v4.23 appears to be the same as v4.22 but with ComodoBoclean graphics.
? No changes other than Vista compatability.

v4.22 still updating.

regards.

Edit:
PS as time flys past !! in the last 24 odd hours since v4.23 has been released there have been some little buggies and conflicts ( SBS&D Teatimer for one seems to be interfering) surfacing in the Comodo forum and here.
Just keep the powder dry.
As I recall that was often the way with the PSC releases. New update: some issues: new new update within 24/24. ;)

Just wait a liitle bit or keep your 4.23 install around.
Kev'll fix it :)
Regards

Could someone post a screenshot of the new systray icon?

I've been a happy user of BOClean for almost a year, don't know yet if I'll upgrade to 4.23 for now, since 4.22 should be supported for some more time ??? , according to what Kevin said.

-{ Quote: "Hi Blue, sorry it,s OT but I am curious what are the last two icons in ur systray on left side? Thanks" }-No problem.

The icons are, left to right, Mailwasher Pro, AntiExecutable, sound, BOClean, Dr Web Mail, Dr Web Guard.

Before my ISP started to handle spam, Mailwasher received a workout, it's a convenience at this point. Since ESS is in beta, I'm taking a moment to test some of the other options available on my machine since I prefer not to discuss things I haven't actually tried for an extended time. For example, when I comment on av-comparatives.org (http://www.av-comparatives.org/) test results and say things like some users will not see detection performance differences between Standard and Advanced+ products (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=988502#post988502), I try to base that type of comment, or product specific comments, on some objective field use experience with my own machines.

Just for your infomation and from what I have read in the forum, this appears to be a beta release and its not an official release yet until Tuesday.

Some may disagree but thats how I read it.

I am staying with my 4.22 for now, but I like the new GUI.

Don has once again made the statement that it is his experience that AVG anti-malware, the old ewido is better at removal then BOClean.

I ask again for him to share his experience. :(

Edit: Nothing against AVG Suite as this would be "plan B".

I just posted this over at Comodo and will post it here as well ..............

The problem I was having with manual updates through GUI seems to have fixed itself overnight, the box must have just needed a good nights sleep .................. have no idea really, maybe it needed a cold start, I rebooted several times last night but nothing, first thing I tried after booting up this morning was a manual update and bingo went straight through. Beats the cr*p out of me.
