hell to everyone.
i'm new to this so forgive me if i'm in the wrong forum.I have installed spybot and now need a program to clean my system after internet use i.e cookies/history etc.
I used to use Evidance Eliminator but it is now playing up.It used to do a good job (as far as i know).

Hi Jhon
I am happy using Webroot's Window Washer.
There are also some free usage cleaners that I have not tried, like iISystem Wiper and Internet Sweeper. I have also seen a lot of recommendations for Adios Extreme File System Cleaner.
I just took a look at Spybot S&D settings, and it can search for usage tracks. I'd be interested to know if it could be set to approximate the job done by Window Washer.

Window Washer is not free.

Adios in fact seems to be "nagware" but costs only $10 to register.

iISystem Wiper comes in a free and Pro version

Internet Sweeper seems to be completely free.

I found all of these links quickly using Google. Google is your friend ;)

I use an old copy of Internet Sweeper 1.8.1 myself, mostly just to make housekeeping faster, and it keeps me happy. I'm sure either the free version of that or the new Aladdin version would work well.

;) Hello friend,
I too still use IS 1.8.1 (the last freeware release). I have been able to compare it toe-to-toe with Window Washer 5.0 and I still prefer the Sweeper. It's fast, versatile and very easy to use. It also works with both Opera and Internet Explorer. ;D

I have Internet Sweeper version 1.8.4 which I believe is the final free version:

It is a terrific program, which I have used for a long time.

If you're willing to spend a little cash, there are two excellent programs with different strengths (I use both):
Tracks Eraser Pro at http://www.acesoft.net/
and IEClean at http://www.nsclean.com/ieclean.html (or NSClean if you use Netscape)
Tracks Eraser Pro erases not only browser caches and history but also the history for dozens of other applications. IEClean is dedicated more to securing and controlling the behavior of IE and Outlook Express. Both of these can be set to securely delete (shred) cache and history information and to overwrite slack space on your hard drive. If you're not set on finding a free cleaner, both of these are terrific programs - well worth checking out...

There's also System Security Suite (freeware too).
There seem to be a lot of options. Perhaps jhon would like to check the freeware selection at WebAttack:
