Cannot create files in folder "My Computer"

Hi Folks:

Just started to get ready to create my first image using ATI9 build 2343. I want to create the backup on my new additional internal drive F: and I got the error message Error "You cannot create files in the folder "My Computer", please choose another location." Why can't I do this? :o I bought the new drive for making these backups. On Grover Hatcher's excellent beginners guide it clearly shows a backup being made in the folder My Computer.

Looking forward to continuing my backup. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions! :)

If it is a backup of the entire drive, just choose the root of drive F to hold the backup Image. You should also upgrade to the latest build of version 9.

Al" }-Grovers guide shows the backup being made to a folder on drive F: per the image from his guide below. Do update to either B3854 the latest or B3677, older but not as buggy.

As indicated by the image and backup instruction #9; "folders are created prior to the actual backup process" (within Windows explorer).

Create you empty backup folders from inside Windows prior to startiing TrueImage.
1. Dbl click on MyComputer
2. Dbl Click on Drive F (or whatever drive is to contain your backup files) to open Windows Explorer.
3. Right Click any empty spot within the Explorer Window.
Choose New
Click Folder
Type in a name for your new folder.
Maybe even create a second folder so it will be ready for your next backup.
You can always rename your folder names should you want a change of folder name.

Note that you can create a new folder via Acronis True Image as well. In order to do so you should first select a disk/partition where you wish to store the image archive and after that use "Create a new folder" button to create a folder, if necessary (check the attached screen shot).

Thanks for the image. Despite using TI for several years, I had never noticed the "new folder" function until you pointed it out. You know "can't see the forest for the trees" syndrome.
