View Full Version : Error: cannot write sector

i get this error after im asked to restart windows to create the partition.
Error: cannot write disk 1 sector 150008
i tried this with all 3 partition types
i have windows vista home basic installed,. i assume there is some sorta security feature that im not aware off.

I see no one's replied. :( I had the same error, and after 'ignoring' it--and the multiple others that came up afterwards--my drive was basically hosed. I hoped to find an explanation here!

Same problem. I went ahead and ignored those bad sector messages and my OS (Vista) and HD is caput. Can we get some support here??

To All: What version of DD are you using?

Be aware that currently Vista's partitions should only be resized, created, formatted, etc. using Vista's disk management. Using DD (even the latest build of 10) seems to screw it up.
