I just noticed that Rising antivirus had joined the jotti and will join VT later on.

EDIT: When I meant analogous, yes, I'm referring to the less-than-ideal reputation the product enjoys among the more technically oriented, as well. ;D

Rising is improving. One of the reasons for joining Jotti (and soon VirusTotal) is to gain access to samples as they have very few R&D centers in Europe and hence are unable to obtain many samples of common malware in Europe. This move from them proves that they are serious in entering the market in a big way. Rising works very hard at adding samples, they are serious about improving their detection rate. Whether this will actually happen, I do not know yet. But it will be interesting to wait and watch. :)
