Hello all

I'm a new user of NOD32 since today

But after install nod32 say that is up to date but i see that definition is vers 2009 (jan 2007) and repetitive manuals update seems doesn't work

I have unistalled reinstalled and nothing

PS: i stand for my password and key ( buy online ) and i use 2.70.31 trial French version.

Sorry for my poor english...

Hi Laurrent, welcome to Wilders.

Please check the following:

NOD32 Control Centre> Update> Setup> Server is set as "Choose Automatically".

Click on Advanced and make sure LAN is set for Broadband ADSL/Cable or Dialup is set for Wireless Broadband, Dialup and Satellite connections.

Check Proxy Server Setup> setup to make sure there isn't a tick in there (99.99% of people do not use a proxy).

Check that LAN servers connection> Setup is set to System Account (default).

Beyond this NOD32 will update unless a firewall is blocking the Internet connection for NOD32.

Cheers ;D

Sorry, just noticed you are using the Trial version until your Username and Password arrive. There is a priority given to paid users in times where large updates are rolled out, this is the case at the moment. When you receive your key, as a paid user it will resume updating immediately

Cheers ;D

Something not right about that:-they are trialing a product(Nod in this case)to see if they like it and if it does the job they want it to(protect their PC in this case)BUT Nod wont update to latest defs, which if you're honest, are needed for Nod to do its job correctly AND convince new users that the product is as good as we say and make them buy it(which you seem to assume they are going to do anyway in your last sentence),sorry this doesn't make sense to me:-if anybody is running a trial of an AV product it should perform exactly like the paid for version(apart from time limit)otherwise how can you decide if the product is the right one for you?

I agree with you, imho you're right ;)

For my problems all is solved. i've receveid a mail with my key and Nod work like a charm and is up to date now (2154 def version). ;D

Thanks for all informations, but an other time i'll stand to have all informations before install a "try before buy" software

This happens on such a rare occasion that the majority of trial user would not be aware of it. ESET have improved the situation by bringing on further Servers to cope with such an occurrence, and over time this will improve further as they make changes to the product.

Cheers ;D
