The only gripe I can say about IEClean is that it does not load quick enough for me. When I click on the icon,it takes a few minutes for the program to start.I know thats minor but still bugs me.Just checking maybe theres something better out there before my 30 day money back guarantee is over.

Hi, folks: I used it briefly(full version). It is a good app, I would not mind continuing to use it. I changed my heart just because I found a better one; East-Tec Eraser 2007. There is a trial version for you to test. While you test it, you may want to try this one ; anti tracks--is good as well. I used it for few months(full version). I wish I could keep them all; just too much than I can handle. One good one is just optimal. :)

I also used Privacy Eraser Pro, it worked fine and I liked its logo.
But I don't like to spend money on cleaning softwares and they don't fit in my global plan either. So I keep on using the freeware CCleaner.
One day I might not need it anymore. If I'm wrong, I still can buy one of those better cleaners.

That is a very good one, but I couldn't install it, I got an error.
But I have read its features and it cleans ALOT.

When the day comes that i Must turn to a Paid clean-up solution other then the ones most commonly available for free, then that's when i'll just have to toss my boxes in the dumpster.

The very mention of 150 dolls for a single clean-up soft is ludicrous at best IMO. My money is better spent on Hard Drives and MotherBoards w/accessories etc. as well as Top Notch security programs who's founders deserve compensation for not just the development but SUPPORT with a capital "S".
SAS is one such securityware which springs to my mind first, and there are others who are in the mainstream of making our lives just a little more confident when sitting in front of these machines.

But seriously folks, an expenditure for a privacy eraser? Sorry but i don't keep any encrypted national security briefs or something else someone might deem essential/desirable goods on my computer which could be compromised so i only bother with the usual dusting.

My clean-up schedule goes something on this order. First run a series of registry cleaners you know perform without issue, then run crapcleaner(Repair Issues), then run WindowWasher (w/ Bleach ;D ), then run Dcleaner.
Check all the known popular haunts (folders) for renegades just to be on the safe side.

Now personally i use the freeware RESTORATION which is more announced for it's ability to recover deleted files, uh well, i depend on UndeletePlus for file recovery. Works! on recovering to the same drive unlike most that demand another media to save to.

I select DELETE COMPLETELY and also REMOVE FILE RECORDS which it will ask. That about concludes my dusting habit, after reboot who knows what Windows will stockpile on the drive again which just keeps repeating the same cycle in an endless loop.

After those chores and in that order, at least IN MY MIND i think my drive is cleaned up enough. :-\

Side Note: Also have Eraser but it is never seen an entire wipe on my machines, only files or series of files w/wipe#7.

XP has an inbuilt tool to overwrite deleted data.It exists in my setup but I haven't tried it as yet and don't know if it's any good or even works.

Thanx Franklin for that. I knew XP had it but never bothered to really test it out for myself.

The same applies to RESTORATION.
When i know i'm done at the table for awhile and ready to completely clear the deleted files, i turn it on and go off someplace knowing it will be at the very least over an hour or two untill it's done. The larger the drive the longer it has to take. Depending on how long i been online or the files i've deleted, i have seen it take overnight to finish.

I'm not sure if this kind of regular removal is really all that neccessary though, can you offer any insight?

I can't in all honestly really make a claim that it speeds things up anymore than if just left alone to the default treatment of deleted files. There's certainly no privacy issue that makes it a priority for me. I'm just always looking for that ever so slight speed increase in performance and nothing more really. For me SPEED and quickness (agility) is the ruling factor i expect most. Well, of course safety too but that's already long since been covered.

Can't really comment one way or another on secure deletion and it really doesn't bother me.

I just use CCleaner for a normal deletion every now and then.And then it hardly finds anything in normal mode as I am usually surfing in a shadow.

I have been using this program for a few years now.

The only things I do not like is

1. the scheduler is not as flexible as many of the others out there.

2. there is no way to create specific profiles.
