Is there any way that I can protect a file from being accidentally erased? I've made it read-only, but as soon as I press delete, the file is deleted without even warning me that it is read-only.
If I can't protect it from being erased, what's the best utility to password protect files?
I'm not a fan of System Safety Monitor as I find it a little too complicated (although I am sure that the product is excellent judging from what I read at Wilders). I do think that NeoavaGuard is a great HIPS that had a folder protect feature, but it didn't work for me, so something along the same lines would be great - a way of protecting files and folders.
Many thanks

Maybe have a look at one of these, used and mentioned by ACF'ers - freeware.

Thanks MICRO - I already use Truecrypt. Actually, the file I wanted to prevent from deletion was my Truecrypt master password. It's a 20+ password of letters, numbers and characters that I could never remember in a million years, so wanted to make damn sure I would never delete it by mistake.

Thanks dah145 - haven't tried the latest version so will give it a try.
Thank you both for your replies :thumb:

Why not just use in-built File permissions?

Why not keep it as a password protected SafeNote in the free AI RoboForm.
You can keep the Roboform data on a USB stick if you want as well.
