MS Digital Image Suite + AV Question

Hi all

Just purchased Microsoft Image Digital Suite 2006...Installation requests turning off any AV software. Is this a essential ? What are the dangers of running an AV (I use KAV6) during install ?

Its a typical warning among many installers for programs.

I don't think its essential, I keep my AV enabled and all my programs install fine.
