Avast not updating manualy or automaticly and its freezing.

It hasn't updated since the 9th and an update came out today. I clicked the green update button and nothing happened. I then go to exit out but it freezes and I have to right click it on the bottom screen to exit out. How can I fix this? I had this happen before and I had to reinstall it and re register.

Ok I got it to update manually I just hope it can auto update.

You can also try restarting all avast related services. I don't use avast but there must be services that have avast in the name or the name of the antivirusvendor. Go to start,run,at the run dialog box type services.msc press enter. Then click on each service that has avast in the name and choose for restart service.
