hi ,
new here ,,, gotta say what a great group !!
anyway ,,, been running Symantec corporate edition ,,,, time to get rid of it ! !
after reading the other post on this site ,,, narrowed choices down to sophos or nod32. any recommendations which would be better considering key hot points below ?
enviorment:
central office : 40 users with laptop(traveling users) and desktops,
with another 30 (desktop and laptop) users at remote sites connected vpn broadband connections. central office has the Exchange server, file server, application servers, ect…
key features looking for :
-corp management console to push out installs and upgrades reliably without having to go touch the computers because push install fails a lot of the time…
-must be able to exclude certain files or programs from being scanned on the workstations and then lock this configuration up so users can not change settings from the workstation. Again all being done from management console.
-all the above to work on local lan and at remote branches via vpn with domain login.
-small fast AV client ,,,, not like Symantec AV slow hog of a client
-looking for option to include firewall for laptop traveling users.
-looking to be able to get “real” tech support without waiting on hold for hours
note as for cost,,,, anyone have feeling for big round numbers for which package cost more ?? such as sophos would run about 1.5 times as much as nod32 ?
any thought would be great help,,, thanks, joe
