If you could only use one of these without an Antivirus for RealTime Protection, which one would it be? Prevx1, Cyberhawk, Spyware Terminator, AVG Anti-Spyware, SuperAntiSpyware, SpySweeper, or A Squared Anti-Malware?

Cyberhawk because it is free and a pretty good HIPS. (If you have a few $$ to spare then I gotta agree with WSFuser, Prevx1....even though it was not a choice. ;D )

Good point about Prevx1 WSFuser, so lets throw that and also SuperAntiSpyware into the "which one wold you use" question.

From the ones you listed, Cyberhawk. Given a choice, SSM.

CyberHawk. For me, I would prefer DefenseWall.

I'd be inclined to try A-Squared antimalware.

Wow this is a tuff one. Cyberhawk i guess but SAS could as easily be that choice too.

Given that this hypothetical question is centered on having only one security app, how can you guys pick a signature scanner over a HIPS?

I agree TypicallyOffbeat. Or at least choose one that has additional detection like Spyware Terminator with its lightweight HIPS, and A Squared A-M that has IDS Behavioral detection. I myself would most likely use Cyberhawk though.
