View Full Version : NOD sig updates more frequent lately?

I am a long time NOD user. For months, daily signature updates were coming to my machine once a day, usually in the late afternoon hours, CET time. But lately I noticed that these updates are more frequent, twice or three times and sometimes four times a day. So I've been wondering is there something "fishy" (;D ) going on with our friends malwares these days? Or perhaps that has something to do with the long-time expected upcoming v3 (engine updates)? Not worried, just curious. :)

Cheers. :thumb:

An update is provided when necessary. There is nothing "phishy".NOD32 doesn't detect , it is added. The more malware (more active virus writers are) ,the more definitions we receive ;)

Some days there have been none but most days per week have been 2, 3, 4 per day.

Hello Bubba.

Honestly, I didn't check my updates settings before posting, but everything is automatic with me regarding sigs, and component set to "offer". Well, I probably overreacted a bit. I'll look with more attention to your suggestions regarding last year. Thank you.

Of course, I was just curious if there occured some sudden rush of malwares on the market that is known of.

ThreatSense is very reliable source of malware to keep our people busy.

With NOD's heuristics taken into account, I lay double assured. :thumb:
Keep up the good work. Thank you all once more.

the last 3 months NOD32 indeed had more signatures then before. 61 on february and 74 on january if I take only these 2 months for example. :)

by signatures i'm sure you mean updates :) 61 signatures a month and i think they'd be relying a little too much on heuristics!
