I believe this is related to the recent NOD32 update to 2.7...

If I go to the Windows Update site, it gets as far as:

Waiting for http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

in the status bar - then just sits there forever.

I tried disabling IMON, but it stsill hangs, BUT...

I noticed in the IMON status window, I noticed that it had a file:

http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/redirect.asp

as the last file...

Anyone else seeing this? Suggestions?

This is happening on ALL of the computers in our network that I have tried - and it didn't happen until AFTER the update to 2.7...

Help!

Correction:

This is 'Microsoft Update', not 'Windows Update'...

I have had the same issue for quite a while, but I always attributed the problem to Microsoft. I don't know if it is NOD-related; but it would be neat to at least know what causes the huge response delay.

I ran into a long hang yesterday while at a clients..noticed it hung so long...I gave up.

However..been at another clients today....doing spring cleanup on their network at this resort....and it's working fine...just tried it on my laptop..worked fine.

Yes they've been updated to 2.7 since last week.

Just a note...new Windows Genuine Advantage started...

Works fine here but way too slow.
It appears to stall for a few minutes and then it continues.

So far Windows Update is much faster, but of course if you have Office etc. you'll probably have to use the slow option that is MS Update.

Edit: Well it only appears to be slow when you run it the first time. Second time it's just as fast as Windows Update.
