similar but different :P
I gather the main difference is the lack of different OSs as well as central administration geared toward enterprise
but for an end user in need of a mobile virtual environment pretty handy, was running it when it first came out but found it pretty slugish from the USB 1.0 port I was forced to use at the time.

I have a nice pocket VirtualBox - remote desktop, usb support. The VMWare is gonna be useful.

It is already possible using Linux (will work like a live cd) + vmware installed after, but this could be a neat little package, all optimised towards vmware - I assume the host OS will be Linux.

The 'assured computing environment' for the enterprise (2).
ACE, and other VMWare products are all from the same pod, same technology, although ace compared with Workstation is directed to a different user, 'security administrators' and used to secure the remote PC.
ACE2 has more management features and 'Virtualization in a USB drive' is pitched to make ace2 more flexible.
