One of the girls at work is experiencing complete keyboard failure on her Fujitsu Siemens XP Pro and she asked me if I could do anything. The driver seems ok. It's less than a year old and still under warranty and I think that the best thing to do is to have them fix it.

She doesn't want the hassle of going through that process because she thinks that it might be something simple and easily remedied.

I suppose that a disc check wouldn't hurt though I'm not at all sure that it will help.

Is it worth scanning the disc and attempting to recover bad sectors, do you think?

Is there anything else, something simple, that I can try that might restore it?

Hope I posted this in the proper forum. I don't want to be making extra work for the moderators.

As for the keyboard problem....Is this a Notebook, Personal computer, USB keyboard....etc ?
Anything else you can provide such as model number might be helpful.

If Personal computer....you\she could move that keyboard to another PC and see if the problem follows. Also....I would definetly have her check if the keyboard is properly plugged in and not in the mouse port....little sister done that one time :o

TY, Bubba.

It's a PC, non-USB keyboard, and it's definitely plugged into the proper port. I'll try moving the keyboard tomorrow and see if it works in one of the other computers, if it does then it's a software problem, right! If it doesn't work, then she needs a new keyboard, I think.

Thanks for the suggestion.
