I'm having serious issues installing Anti-Malware Programs under Vista.
The ones I cannot install are:

ProSecurity
DefenseWall
Boclean
Ghost Security (Both)
Nod32
System Safety Monitor
KIS 2006 (several important area's aren't controlled anymore)
... and I bet ProcessGuard won't work either after rebooting in a few secs.

This is a serious freaky thing and I would like to warn you all about trying to make a balans for what it's worth ..

And I won't talk about all the other usual apps like Acrobat (won't work here), in fact I tried already a dozain apps that aren't compatible ..

maybe some of you have some tricks to get some apps to work again? that would be awesome!!! :thumb:

pfff Microsoft ... Thanx :thumbd:

PEBKAC? :)

I know for a fact NOD32 v2.7.x & KIS 2006 6.0.2.614 (http://www.kaspersky.com/productupdates?chapter=186437046&downlink=206907929) work fine in Vista. SUPERAntiSpyware 3.5 also works like a champ.

BROEPJEB!

Strange maybe I'm doing something wrong. Do you have UAC disabled?

Try to install NOD32 again. I have like 4 AS apps and only A2 works as it should

I've just started compatibility issues work for Vista. Hope, I'll finish with it quite soon. New OS- new problems. It is normal.

Yeah, it seems it may also depend a lot from your hardware.A friend of mine is having problem installing some security applications on his computer, but yet no problem on his wife's computer. Both computer have the same Vista version.???

I have NOD32, BOClean, Look 'n' Stop, Sandboxie and SuperAntispyware all running on Vista.
Pretty good setup in my opinion for the limited amount of programs that can run on Vista.

You can also try this link to help you in your search http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List

This list isn't set in stone as programs are always being updated so take it for what its worth, if it helps than good

Last thing I forgot to mention I have the UAC turned off on my PC, thats what stopped the endless popups with the BOClean updater, you can keep it on and do a manual update but after a while it becomes a pain in the a**

This is very very good news Ilya :thumb: :thumb:

I was trying to look for some info about Vista on your website and what I found was pretty funny but very much the truth. I was only hoping you would change your mind ... so Thanx a lot and honestly DefenseWall is one fantastic program.

Best Wishes,

I think you're right on spot with your statement. I'm thinking it has to do with my motherboard and the lack of updates regarding important drivers like for the CPU, Network Card, SoundCard .. I also find that M$ could be a little faster regarding updates .. Since the release, only 12 updates for Vista .. all the rest were drivers for other hardware
