I want to edit an existing daily data backup to create a weekly cycle: Full backup on Sunday, differential backups the next 6 days, then start all over again.
I see in the manual that this can be done, but the option never shows up in the Backup Wizard.

Since this all changed in V10, it might be an idea to specify which version you are using.

OK, under V10 a feature called backup locations was introduced. This allows more out-of-the-box expiry and managment of old backups than was previously available. However, I am a v9 user and would ask for those wiser than me on V10 to comment on your exact requirements in combination with backup locations.
Under V9 I would have done this with two schedules (which you can do with V10 as well). You simply have one schedule which recreates a full backup every Sunday (thus overwriting last weeks full backup). You have another which creates a differential based on the full, every day.

I like your two-schedule idea. It's simpler, and does what I want.
Tech Support sent me a 2-paragraph outline for creating and using a Backup Location. I sailed through the first, and got totally hung up in the second.
Thanks.
