View Full Version : Earlier build Boot disk won't recognise files

I had TI 9 build 3xxx (near latest) and my hard disk just crashed. Luckily just before I made a backup image of partition containing progs and backed up data. Unfortunately my boot disk was made from an earlier build (2337) of TI 9.

The disk boots ok but it does not recognise the backup image .tib file and although it recognises the data .tib file it won't restore it to the drive.

It is more than likely due to the earlier version boot disk. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks I am desparate.

Download the latest trial version and make the bootable Rescue CD. You'll have to find a working computer to do so - most likely the one you posted the message from.

This is backwards compatible with images created via earlier builds but earlier builds (and their rescue CDs) are not compatible with images created with the new engine.

Therefore, as suggested by Ralphie, download/install the trial version TI 10.0 Home Build 4940 and use it to create a new Acronis bootable rescue CD. This will be able to validate and restore the image you created with TI 9.

Thanks very much. I did what you said and it worked a treat.
