I have just installed TRI 9.0 on my computer. It has a 5 GB hard drive with 1 GB free space. I also have a 1GB Flash Drive. I am running Windows 2000 Pro with a 233 Pentium processor with 256 MB Ram.

It appears that I do not have enough space, even with maximum compression, to completely restore my computer. I am not computer savvy enough to know what individual critical folders or files to save to reboot in case of a crash. Some programs I could reinstall and all program data is currently stored on floppy disks.

1. Given my 1GB free space on the hard drive and a 1GB Flash Drive how do I best protect may computer with Acronis True Image 9.0?
2. If I cannot, with compression, completely restore my computer please advise as to what files or folders I should image. The minimum goal would be to boot the computer with all system settings and some programs after a crash.

The short answer is you need a bigger/additional hard-drive. To be able to restore a bootable OS with the installed apps requires making an image of the partition. Even with compression that would require about 3GB in your case.

Since you have your data on floppies, I assume you don't have a DVD burner which might offer you another option but your system probably is too slow to adequately support reliable DVD burning. Money would be better spent towards new HD.
