avg anti-spyware doesn't finish scanning

AVG anti-spyware v7.5 doesn't finish scanning. I let it scan for a while and after 50+minutes the program closes itself. I tried to scan again and it did the same thing again. Why is it happening?

Is it always sticking at the same place? If so, you could try placing the file in question into the Exceptions tab of the Infections section so that it doesn't get scanned, then see if a scan completes.

Else you could try scanning in safe mode to see if that makes a difference.
