I don't think there's much debate about this one.
Avast.

for antivir, the premium version has 5 additional features (look under Premium functions (http://www.avira.com/en/produkte/antivir_personaledition_premium.html)).
for avast, the professional version has 9 additional features (look at Versions comparison (http://www.avast.com/eng/av4_version_comp.html)).
and for avg, the commercial versions have 9 additional features (look under What you do not get (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5)).
of course, you should evaluate the additional features as they vary for each product. i think avast home may be the least lacking.

thank you for answering
the problem I have with avast home is that it freezes IE sometimes on one of my PC and makes me have to restart PC. I found out the problem has something to do with its webshield. But what's the point to use avast if I turn off webshield.

Have you got the webshield set to "normal"?
All my Avast shields are set to normal, which is recommended. Seem to recall I had (rare) IE freezes when I tried some of them on "high".
('course, Firefox doesn't freeze much.;D )

avast home does have most features including the webshield which seems to be about the only trouble free http scanner.

Avast. It keeps the web scanner in the free version.

Definitely Avast. AVG also retains pretty much everything of the pro version, all it mainly lacks is certain configuration options.

AVG has a better product (AVG Antimalware) than AVG Pro ;)

It is without a doubt Avast. Home version has almost all the features that the pro version has.
Now that i am using Antivir PE Classic I can give a hint to Avast staff for maybe downgrading some features, so more people would buy the pro ones ;)
Just kidding guys, I think Avast makes most profit on companies instead home users.
