Volume Shadow copy Service (VSS)

By default, VSS is now used to copy the active snapshot instead of RSS for Windows XP and later.
You can select which service using ISRSetup. In a Command Prompt: cd \$ISR\$APP\Setup | ISRSetup -install -rss (or -vss). A reboot will be required after selecting RSS.

What Microsoft host system service controls RSS? For Volume shado copy it's easy to figure out but not sure about RSS. The two services I see in services are MS software shadow copy service and Volume shadow copy. ???

RSS is a third-party solution. non-Microsoft.

So I have to download RSS then. Where is the appropriate RSS download that works with FDISR then? I see RSS reader when I google but that doesn't sound right.

No Sir,

RSS is included in FD-ISR. It's the part of the application that enables read access to open files, in order to copy them.

Here (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=758149&postcount=8) is explained how to enable RSS:
