My OS is XP Pro SP2. I used Add/Remove Programs to uninstall Comodo Personal Firewall. The title Comodo Personal Firewall remained but the add or remove disappeared. This made it impossible for me to install any other firewall as I was seen as already having a firewall. I did with trepidation remove all Comodo Registry entries but this changed nothing. I tried the App in Softpedia Add Remove Manager to remove Comodo but that didn't work. I have downloaded Tweakui from Annoyances but am not sure how to use it. Any help would be appreciated as it is scary being firewallless. mirimim

I won't use comodo firewall because of it's habit of not allowing it self to be removed. If the adminastrator of a computer can't remove a program from that computer then there is some bad coding in that software that won't allow it self to be removed IMO.

Yeah, that is true, but on the other hand, if I had to choose between easy uninstallation and a better termination resistance then I would choose the second. This is an another reason, besides HIPS, why, Comodo still does not suit for begginners, unfortunatelly. Such a waste.

There seems to be quite a few programs that don't uninstall easily. It doesn't make logical sense to make it difficult to remove a program even if it is supposed to be "solid as a rock". Most likely the result of sloppy programming. Having worked in a software environment, I have seen more than my share of that. ::) :thumbd:

Theres a program called YourUninstaller! Pro I've used it whenever a program refused to be uninstalled at it worked perfectly
