I am using POP3 in Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2 to retrieve email from two accounts. One is on port 110 and the other on an encrypted connection using port 995. I've set up IMON to use ports 110 and 995.

I am NOT currently using EMON or DMON.

Two questions,

1. Can IMON scan the encrypted email on port 995 when I download via POP3?

2. Is it generally safe to enable EMON without worrying about email corruption?

Enable them

AMON takes care of the encrupted traffic when it has reached the hard drive
