Ok, One program would be 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ found it one WebAttack, searching for a good way to create backup archives, and supposedly 7-zip is better then .zip format? and Script Defender http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/system/sdefend.htm Figured I could try this to prevent against malicous scripts running?

ScriptDefender

It's pretty good program. I use it with various other utils

You may be right. But let me tell you one thing.
I'm sure it's kinda mr. Perez's fault. >:(

Everytime he's at the Wilders, he keeps teasing me and that makes me nervous...so you see, I make plenty of mistakes...

So I'd better "Shhhhhhhhhhh" for he might come and have a good laugh at my reply!!! :P

But thank you Acadia for letting me know! ;)

I have wormguard.
Does script defender essentially do the same thing as wormguard?

No, somewhat different (WG is more comprehensive). You should be able to use both, if you want, without any problems. ;)

I dont know, lol, I know Wormgaurd blocked scripts, but, it had heauristics to block most, where as Script Defender will just ask you if you want to allow it or not, I didnt like wormgaurd (I had about 10 false positives on it)

Yes, Comp01 is right in that Wormguard serves the same broad purpose as Script Defender but WG has more configureability and has a Heuristics element programmed in, in addition to (or in contrast to) being able to block all scripts of a certain type.

Hope this helps,

Dan

Thanks acadia, I will try it.

Yes u r right comp01. It has given me some false positives too but it has also saved my bacon a few times so i like it.

I'm looking forward to worm guard4. It is suppose to have scanning capabilities with live updates.

So no point in having both?

Well, if you are happy with WG as I am then I would say I wouldn't bother with the other. If you want to consider it as an alternative than it is probably safe to have both running while experimenting, and then you can decide later :)

Remember!! If you want to uninstall ScriptDefender to FIRST turn it off, like the creator of SD tells you to. You can royally mess up your system if you uninstall SD without turning it off.

Thanks guys ;D

I'm happy with wormguard so i'll just leave it at that.

With all my security tools it is near the top of the list.

Hmm, I'm also wondering how AnalogX's "TimeSync" program is, Since my computers clock is always off by about 5 minutes, as its the only clock in the room..
