That you could install, that told you everything that you could possibly want to know about all the hardware on your computer?

It was free for a long time, but then it went "pay".

Can't remember the name of it to save my life. Pete

Maybe SIW (http://www.gtopala.com/) or Aida (http://www.sofotex.com/AIDA32-download_L9326.html)?

If you just want the most detailed information and not the benchmarks, here's one that will make you forget about Everest, Sandra and all the rest:

http://www.faronics.com/html/SysProfiler.asp

It's called System Profiler from Faronics, and it's free.

it sounds like Everest to me too. i really like pcwizard though when it comes to checking system specs. it also does benchmarking, and finds drivers and loads more. it's great!! 8)

I did have one instance after first installing SIW where my FW alerted me that it was trying to send home an e mail. ??? :o I blocked it. The program still functioned fine. I then promptly removed it. And yes, I had d\l`d it from the Authors website.
