Sensitive Gmail-- Can it be Shred?

I'd like to know if there's a way to shred, rather than delete, Gmail.

Whoa. Sounds impossible, seeing as we don't have access to wherever they store copies (and I'm positive they store copies, at least on a temporary basis).
I'd like to hear a solution for this one, too. The only reason I use G mail is the large amount of free storage. Other than that, I avoid g00gle like the plague. I have to disable so much security software to check my mail it's ridiculous. PeerGuardian goes apesh*t.

You will never be able to shred email completely, period. It doesn't matter if it was through Google Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail etc. or a School, Work or home account.
You can never know where the email went during transit, in what backups it got saved, copies being stored etc.

Back to topic: there is no method to shred a mail received through Google mail. Best thing you can do is delete it from your inbox AND deleted message folder and hope for the best.

Next time you have really sensitive email, you could use encryption. :)
