Lately i've been seeing people here and in another forum mentioning using Open DNS. Can someone explain to me the advantages/disadvantages of open DNS ?

OpenDNS is supposed to be faster and safer than DNS servers provided by ISP.
When I browse webpages, OpenDNS resolve IPs faster than DNS servers of my ISP.
