Previously a "COPY PARTITION" operation was a no-go on this western Digital HDD, all boot files seemed to be in order but "OS SELECTOR" was blind to the new copied partition, or so I thought. IN FACT the ORIGINAL PARTITION was not recognized by "OS SELECTOR" and the copied partition was operational! Believing the MBR was messed up I did a "bootcfg /rebuild" in the repair console and it went thru 95% when it sent an error message so I exited and by itself it went into chkdsk /r and corrected the original partition's MBR and other files (they went by to fast to read) and now both partitions work. I am still getting error messages from windows that it needs to shut down due to some problem but it does not reboot as it usually does with this error message. Funny thing was that I changed the desktop background to determine which partition I was in and it changed the desktop background in the copied partition! So I installed a small game onto the first partition then booted into the copied partition and the game was not present and I knew for sure that I had a copied partition. I again changed the desktop background and finally it remained without changing the original partition. There are problems with this copied partition but I think deleting it and recopying it might solve the problem now that I know which partition to use the repair console on (that's my hope anyways).
