Hi just wondering if its possible to disable the gui of ghostwall while still having it protect my system?

Yes, just stop the process loading on startup through a MSCONFIG tweak and it should still work fine. I suggest you do some simple tests with the GUI not popping up each boot to double check that it is working fine.
