Hello, I have been looking through the forum and I haven't heard of any issues when upgrading from 8.0 to 9.1. Before I upgrade I wanted to find out if anyone has experienced any difficulties after the upgrade. From what I understand, I must uninstall ver 8.0 on my server first, before installing ver 9.1. But I can reinstall over each remote agent, and be able to keep the scheduled tasks held by each client.

But before I upgrade to 9.1, I would like to be able to keep both versions of the software before I make the decision final. Has anyone attempted to do this? Also, with version 9.1 in place, can multiple domain user accounts start the same scheduled tasks? Because this has been a hassle with either recreating the tasks, or asking another admin to restart the task.

Seeing as quite a bit has changed between 9.1 in not just the software, I'd recommend removal of 8.0 and installation of 9.1 as clean as possible.

Scheduled should stay true and relevant between 8.0 -> 9.1 however this is NOT some thing that I've ever considered trying. Typically as the software was upgraded so was the data storage solution so a new backup script was in order to account for changes to situation.

You can backup the scripts manually by going to:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts

Domain user accounts and how you can use them has improved quite significantly, and its only going to get better. I can't really answer this one as I've never considered the requirement to allow multiple people from different accounts to execute a scheduled task manually.

If you further enlighten us to your requirements in this area we may be able to assist. And you never know, some of the new components of 9.1 may negate this requirement and allow you to circumvent this issue altogether.

Hello AndrewCT,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Server Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATIESWin/).

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please notice that the scenario you suggest, however possible, is strongly not recommended.
As Unit01 suggested, it’s best to do a clean reinstallation of all components of Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server (including remote agents). You will be able to use the scheduled tasks created with version 8.0 after upgrading to version 9.1.

Thank you.
