Why is the update available for Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition?
While Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition no longer qualify for no-charge or extended support, Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 and Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 are supported on those operating systems until January 16, 2004 and December 31, 2003 respectively.
