Why not disconnect the mouse?

using this program is more convenient. disconnecting my mouse means reaching behind my computer.

If it is a PS2 mouse it is not a good idea to unplug it while the PC is on. do not ask me how I know :-[ .

If you do that then the program is not required. ;)

I think the whole idea behind the program is for those times you are in the middle of doing something on the PC and the trackball becomes difficult to use. Also for some, depending on how\where their PC is setup, unplugging\reconnecting the mouse may be a bit of a chore.

in pc world at the weekend i got a usb optical mouse for £10.
so why do you need that program to clean the ball since optical mouses dont have balls in them lol and as i said above they so cheap these days.
even my college has optical mouses on all the computers.

There are several types of optical mice. The type the Wife and I use similar to this one,http://catalog.hsn.com/prod-15678/ec/1400/hp!sf!1400/2332672/2332672.htm, do use a ball to track\cause cursor movement.
As opposed to the type you bought or I use which is a wireless optical I use similar to this one,http://reviews.cnet.com/Microsoft_Wireless_Optical_Mouse/4505-3148_7-30590469.html, on my lap top that tracks\causes cursor movement by reading the movement of what ever surface it rests on.

Exactly my point, and my bad, it didn´t work correctly because of Sandboxie. But it does when unrestricted, cool little tool. :)
