Adaware Se not updating and freezing

Is this happening to anyone else? Its been doing this for about a week so far.

No it shouldn't be doing that.

Go here and D/L the latest definition file:-

http://www.lavasoft.com/download_and_buy/detection_database/

then manually replace your old def file with the new one. See if it runs then.

I wouldn't.
Been having big slowdowns connecting for update, once connected the usual info comes through normally. An update yesterday.

Thats odd It downloaded on the family PC but still not my laptop

Lately, it´s better not to use the in-built updater of Ad-aware SE. Instead, download manually the new defs.

Have the same problem here on both wife's laptop and my desktop. Clicking the Cancel button will start the update check - otherwise one has to wait for approx. 1½ minutes. Problem is also mentiomed in Lavasoft forum, but no response/fix from Lavasoft. Very irritating - this is probably a program I will soon be uninstalling (sort of a leftover from 'the old days' that has IMO been rendered redundant due to other applications that are installed on my PC).
cheater87, you seem well protected even without AdAware.
Before uninstalling, and out of curiosity, I will wait to see how the upcoming new release behaves. ;D
