Thunderbird email client?

I just downloaded Thunderbird lastnight, to go with my Firebird webbrowser, and was wondering if the email client is spyware, or if its a safer client to use then Outlook express?

No spyware at all as far as I know... Spyware simply not in Mozilla's philosophy.

Open-source anyway.
