I haven't been able to reach Cyberhawk's home page (http://www.novatix.com/Cyberhawk/) for a couple of days. Anyone have any luck?

Same here. Yesterday and today I've been unable to reach the site. Maybe a DDoS attack? Anyone know what the last released version was?

The Novatix server appears to be not responding.
The version listed on download.com and softpedia.com is 1.2.0.39, but it might not be current.

Is the new version release the reason? Just speculation.

Hello all--
We were originally targeting today for the release of the new version of Cyberhawk, but during our final rounds of intensive testing we ran into a few issues we'd like to address before our final release. Hopefully we'll get those last-minute items resolved this week and can get Cyberhawk 2.0 out to you next week.
We'll keep you posted!

Hello Cyberhawk Support. What changes have been made for the new version, and is there any type of Roadmap in the works for future releases of CH, and CH Pro?

Hi duke1959--
Here's a bit more info about what's coming.
First of all, both versions of Cyberhawk--Basic (the free version) and Pro--will be included in the same download. The way the model will work is that all downloads of Cyberhawk 2.0 will start out as a 15-day trial of Cyberhawk Pro will all features enabled. At any time during or after the trial period you may elect to register Cyberhawk Pro for continued access to all Pro features. Introductory pricing for Pro is set at $19.95 for a 1-year license for one PC, but you can get a license for up to 3 PCs for only $7.95 more (total of $27.90). If after the 15-day trial you elect NOT to register Pro, then the program will continue on in the more limited Basic mode. The "Basic" version is very close to what you're used to seeing now, in terms of features and comprehensive protection.
Enhancements found in both versions include better keylogger, rootkit, adware and buffer overflow protection, and general bug fixes (many of the issues addressed in this forum previously, including all the issues with the Community Protection settings).
The most important new Pro features include:
--Quarantining and removal of known malware
--Rootkit scanner
--and the Custom Rules settings (these are the old Rules Settings, re-tooled so they actually work properly)
Cyberhawk also supports Vista (32-bit only for now).
Down the road (in the next update, hopefully within a month or so) we hope to provide access to even further malware quarantining and removal features.
Regards,
Becky Dubrow

Will there be an update notice, and can the next release be installed over current version? It always worries me to update to a new version right away, so my next question is. Should I be worried.?

Are you still dependent on IE for running the program?

You will see an update notice, you can install over the current version, and you shouldn't be worried. ;)
Well, we're not worried, but it's completely up to you to choose when you'd like to install. If you'd prefer to wait a while and see others' reaction to the new version, that's fine. We're not going anywhere. :)

Great question--thanks for reminding me of this issue.
As of Cyberhawk v. 2.0 you will no longer need IE 5.5 or above installed in order to run the program. We were able to redo the GUI in such a way that we no longer require IE be installed.

I for one am in anticipation of a more stable release that indeed would resolve the above mentioned issues.
I took on CyberHawk very early on and it performed magnificiently, especially that it allowed me to produce custom "Rules" for interaction/prompts!
That alone, in and of itself made CyberHawk invaluable IMO. But as additional releases came about it seemed the Cyberhawk 'service' or some other of it's internal workings began creating somewhat of a "lag" to my systems/units working in tandem mainly with only System Safety Monitor/Kerio.
It became too much of a lag so i gave up on it for a time, looking forward to another release that would might perform to it's original beta release abilities so far as performance.
The technique of Intercepting potential problems is never been of a concern over here, only let down is been a "disturbing impact" on the normal stabilty with the other releases. At least that's what was evident for my units.
So, looking forward to find this new version a "much better refined" engine with minimal system interferences i hope.
Thanks for the feedback and advanced indications of what we might expect with 2.0.

Thought of one more question. When will we be able to reset Suspicious Activities Detected back to zero?

Hi Longboard--
Since the earlier releases of Cyberhawk there have been a few conflicts here and there, but as far as we know we have addressed them all. Since we position CH to be run alongside any existing security apps that you may have, we do extensive testing to ensure compatibility. You may find that you have to "allow" certain CH processes with firewalls or other apps, or vice versa, you may have to allow your other apps within CH. After this initial set up, all programs should play together nicely.
While we test against numerous apps, there really are a lot of combinations out there that you folks are running. If you come across any problems with any other programs and CH, please let us know and we'll do our best to address it.

Thanks, Easter. I hope that the new release will perform better on your setup. We've really worked hard to track down all the resource issues.

Unfortunately this is one item that didn't make it in to this release. We've still got it on the list, and we'll be sure to get it in to a future update.
Sorry to disappoint!

No disappointment, and no apology needed. I am happy with Cyberhawk, and who knows it may lead to purchasing the Pro version. I have finally decided to stop installing and trying different software programs, and am now only running Cyberhawk with AVG 7.5 Antivirus, Spyware Terminator, and Comodo Pro Firewall. I'm also behind a Wireless Router Firewall, and feel my current set up provides adequate protection. So I thank you for Cyberhawk, as it has helped me to finally be satisfied with my security set up. That said however, I am of course looking forward to the new release. LOL.

off topic : try AOL antivirus instead of AVG 7.5 and THEN you're safe IMO;D
