While I cannot blame myself for not reading the forum (and the manual) earlier, I used the snap restore to restore my disk and lost all my other partitions!!!

These are my life data that I didn't backup yet. Now I only have one partition C:\ and lost my D:\ and E:\ (they are unallocated in TI). What should I do?

Thanks!!!

Did you try the suggestions given to you in an earlier thread?

Hello Martin Yale,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that as it was mentioned in another thread <All My Partition Lost after Restoring C:\ (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=160156)>) this is a normal behavior of Acronis Snap Restore. Namely, as mentioned in the warning in chapter 3.6 "Acronis Snap Restore" in the Acronis True Image 10.0 User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/), when performing Snap Restore, the current Acronis True Image version always restores the entire system disk. Therefore, if your system disk consists of several partitions, all of them must be included in the image. Any partitions that are missing from the image will be lost.

At this point I would recommend that you download and install the free trial version of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/trueimage/). Please be aware that using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 trial version, you will be able to create a "scenario" of the changes, which can be made but you will not be able to complete the operations. However, you will be able to check if the deleted partitions can be recovered using the embedded tool Acronis Recovery Expert. You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis Recovery Expert in chapter 5. "Working with Acronis Recovery Expert" in the Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/).

If you would like to order the software before the trial period ends, please visit the Acronis online store (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/sales/online/).

Thank you.

I've posted this topic before. Still there is no fix or warning from Acronis prior to selecting snap restore. How many people have to lose partitions of data before Acronis implements a warning prior to selecting snap restore????

A prime example of what I warned about in this thread...a year and a half ago!
