hello all, lately i have noticed that when i copy a compressed snapshot, the copy is considerably larger than the original. i'm wondering if anyone has an explanation for this that they care to share with me, this kind of thing makes me noid. Thanks in advance for your info.

I would not know for sure, but I do have a thought...

I imagine that FD-ISR calculates the size of a snapshot during the copy/update process. And during that process, the compressed files are transferred in uncompressed state, and with original file size.
At the end of the copy/update process, FD-ISR won't verify it's calculation and shows you the size of a uncompressed snapshot.

What happens when you recalculate the snapshot size yourself?

thanks for your reply i done a recalculation on this snapshot with same results. the original snapshot is 3.15gb and the copy is 3.70gb fdisr reports 5% free space perhaps this is the difference.
