After succssesfully adding XP home and XP pro partitions to my "XP FACTORY
BUNDELED SOFTWARE" I added a pre-loaded "XP FACTORY BUNDELED
SOFTWARE" 2nd Hard Disk Drive. OS SELECTOR did boot up the second HDD
but it soon went beserk and crashed, unabled to boot into it again (Itried
every trick I could think of but no luck rebooting). All of the retail versions of
XP worked fine with Disk Director 10 but adding the bundeled XP always
wiped out all operating systems including the bundeled one. It seems like
the "Factory Restore Disk" has a supercharged FDISK which overrides any
commands or instructions Disk Director 10 sets up. I booted into the first
Hard Drive (home to DD10) and it showed the second disk to still contain 10
odd gigs of used space which is the size of the bundeled software. It also
showed that the second Hard Drive to be "primary" and "active". Before the
final crash a brief error message saying something like "cannot support two
active Disks" and then it left me staring at the screen saver. I tried to unset
the "active" box in properties but no matter what I did it remained frozen.
Has anyone been able to load a "Factory Restore" operating system using
Disk Director 10? (i.e. multiple "Factory" partitions?) Any comments are
appreciated as I am willing to try again.
