Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone looking for a good backup app. I've gone through a bunch of reviews, tried out a few different ones, looked closely at features, prices, etc. In the end I wound up with Backup4All.
What I require in a backup app is:
- must do incremental backups
- must let me look at different versions of a file on backup and restore a particular version
- must handle open files
- must use catalog files, not rely solely on the archive bit
- must handle scheduling
Some nice-to-haves:
- support for backing up files to an FTP server
- option to password protect backup data
Pretty simple requirements, but a lot of backup packages didn't have ALL of these things. Backup4All does. I highly recommend it.
