Giving it a whirl. For now I have disabled RegDefend. Task Manager shows 2 instances of gss.exe running. Is this normal? I also have auto-update disabled.

Yes it is normal to have two instances of gss.exe running when you have both app & reg defend installed.

Thanks farmerlee. Just seems a bit strange sense I have RegDefend disabled.

Yeah even tho its disabled i guess its still loaded into the memory. Hopefully in a future release appdefend may have a seperate installer.

The two executables exist due to the "copy protection" enabled on that particular version. One of them uses very little resources and is the "protector" of the real executable. Kind of complicated, but I won't be using that protection in the future I think. So you should only see one gss.exe in future versions.

Aha, now i understand why that is. I didn't think gss had self protection in it, but i'm glad to hear that it does.
